We’re Growing!
Join Us!
We are a dedicated group of VOLUNTEERS! We champion diversity, inclusivity, and empowerment of the LGBTQ community in Henderson, Vance County, surrounding counties, and beyond! We work closely with the Mayor, sharing our findings to facilitate support and connections to resources to encourage and uplift the LGBTQ community.
The City of Henderson is one of our most valuable NON-MONETARY sponsors. While our Committee receives essential education and guidance from the Mayor’s office, absolutely no city funds or taxpayer dollars are used for any of our efforts.
But The City of Henderson does provide us:
Exposure
Knowledge
New customers/members
Second chances at would-be customers/members
Credibility
Vendor relationships
Event volunteers
Branding
Other donors/sponsors
Website traffic
Social media growth
Insights into our audience
More opportunities for revenue
In-kind services or goods
We rely primarily on:
1- Event ticket sales;
2- Contributions from our own LGBTQ-owned businesses, which include the FUM Organization, nLife-LGBTQ and Tru SouL Kitchen & Catering; and
3- Donations from our Sponsors, local and state-wide LGBTQ organizations, and Small businesses interested in advertising their products and services to the growing number of LGBTQ residents who have joined Our Mailing List.
Why support the LGBTQ community?
Because we are people too. We are human beings. We are your friends, your brothers, your sisters, your church members, your co-workers or your leaders. We are as similar as every human being there is. Some people are red-haired. Some people are blonde. Some people are left-handed. Some are straight. Some are gay. Some may need to make new friends. Some may need to know how to communicate with their teenaged child who has just told them they are LGBTQ. No matter what categories we fall into, we are still and will always be, human beings. We may not always agree, but let’s have compassion for one another and share resources and support.
Together, we can create a more inclusive community!
